Hello everyone,
No. 2 EGT on my 582 started fluctuating big time, then no indication whatsoever. Did troubleshooting and decided it was a bad probe. Installed a new probe with no change. now the no.1, the good one started to fluctuate and now neither has any indication. I should add that I went from a B gear with 3 GSC 64" prop to a 3 GSC 68" on an E gear with 3.47:1. Your help and thoughts are appreciated.

How did you come to the conclusion that it was a Bad Probe?
Look closely at the wiring, and then look even closer.

I'm going with failing probe on this one.

Could it be a bad new probe?

It is possible that you have had both probes fail in short order and that the replacement probe is also bad.
If this turns out to be the case, I would avoid playing the lottery. You are extremely unlucky!

It is also possible that all the problems relate to one intermittent connection that has now failed hard.
I will go with this option!

The Probes are most likely common Type K Thermocouples.
They will measure as a short (Zero Ohms) on a multimeter.
They will measure as a millivolt source when heated to near 1000°.

Test Them! Don't be surprised if all three probes test as good.
