Thank you both.
I beleive that Rotax has lost its perspective on reality. They charge exorbitant prices for their products, because they can. How is it justified that a composite float pair can cost $140 plus tax. A few years ago they were $70 For a pair. Yes, their redesigned, but double the price?? Why are they not made of brass like the old automotive floats. I guess if that were the case they may last a lifetime. No money to be made there!

A recent EAA VIDEO says they are. These floats are solid epoxy, so obviously the weight will be different. If one were to install these floats, would he still need to take the carbs apart at annual? The float reference is at 1:08:18 of the video.

How current is the video? A friend of mine tried to call them a few months ago and they wouldn't talk about them or even send any. They are too heavy.

The video is dated September 10, 2020. The presenter is Paul Shuch, founder of AvSport in Lockhaven, PA. He says these floats are "really superior ... for experimental aircraft use only ... not PMA approved."

It seems to me that if you can "Add To Cart" on their website, and then go to checkout, they are probably still selling them... has anyone actually purchased and installed these recently?
I visited Paul Schuch last summer to have my carbs inspected (200h) and accomplish the notorious circlip replacement. He didn't make any mention of aftermarket floats then (my original floats were slightly heavy), so I'm guessing he started using them since that time (August 2019). Actually, I think all his own planes are Rotax-powered LSA, but not experimental.
