Ran the leak drainage line down near the opening at the bottom of the firewall.

Can you post a photo of this? I'm trying to figure out a good way to mount that drain line too, while keeping it out of low/high pressure areas, and while trying to keep it out of the path of the hot exhaust. Did you secure the line to anything, or is it just dangling below the pump?

Thought I would give you an update as the pump is installed and pump pressures/flows in both ground run and flying look good. Installation is on an RV-12 .... after looking at the path for the drain line, I modified my approach somewhat. There is limited clearance between the lower cowl and the lower engine casing (less than 1-1/2 in). I made a made an "L" shaped bracket for an adel clamp and then used the open engine attachment point just below cyl #1 to attach the clamp bracket. I used 1/4" fuel hose for most of the drain and used fire sleeve over the segment located above the muffler. Near the engine mount in the rear, I used a section of 1/4 in aluminum tubing which was stubbed into the fuel drain hose and clamped with an Oetiker clamp. The aluminum tube has a 90 degree bend and the horizontal run of the tube is supported with adel clamps mounted to the engine mount. The aluminum tube vertical run is located near the nose wheel firewall attachment and the gascolator. Used a hose spring clamp to attach the drain to the barb on the bottom of the pump.

    Robert,
Ron may have taken some pics...mine is an RV12 as well and we talked some beforehand. I followed his lead pretty much with the exception of the the aluminum tube though I did firesleeve the entire affair. It is run under the cylinders and above the muffler then down the firewall...clamped similar to Ron's. You do need to make certain that there are NO crimps in this line (or the ability to crimp during flight) because it will seal up the drainage hole and send your pressure to the moon. Next time I have the cowling off I will try to get some pics.

Bob how is the new fuel working? I bought one at Oshkosh as did Bill. (Rob's guy in SFO.) Per Bill it did not fix the problem and the fuel pressure was too high at idle. Therefore he tool it off. I never did try mine and returned it.

    Which Bob... me?

I purchased one, and was ready to install it, when Rob/Bill started complaining about it (Bill mainly). So, I never did install it.

My low pressure problems have been different than Bills, and apparently different than several people. My pressures are perfect 99% of the time. It seems like when I descend about 2000 feet below my starting altitude, then often, my pressures go to below safe levels. They come back, when I turn on the electric pump. Using different fuels (auto, 100LL) hasn't helped. Hot/cold days, didn't matter. High/lower engine RPMS during descent didn't matter. It's been like hitting a brick wall... as soon as I'm descending about 2000 feet below my starting altitude, I can almost count on pressure just dropping to almost zero. Yes, I'd blame it on the mechanical gauge, exccept that I've had two partial engine failures (1/2 RPMs at full throttle) while experiencing a low pressure indication, so I tend to believe the gauge is accurate.

I don't ever in my life remember having to replace a fuel pump on any automobile I've ever owned. I can not believe how Rotax would allow such crap to be installed on their expensive engines. Fuel pump and voltage regulator are just plain crap.
