I purchased my RV12 with a Rotax 912UL that had 188 hours. From the day I picked up the airplane the oil pressure has fluctuated. Depending on RPM the pressure would run between 32 and 42. At 235 hours I finally decided to try relocating the oil sensor. I had previously replaced the old senor with the newest modle sensor, which did not fix the problem. I purcahsed the relocation kit from LEAF (very nice kit by the way) and remote loct ed the sensor on the firewall mounted GPS platform. I called the LEAF engine shop and asked if I should purge the the line first and they said it was not needed. When i started the engine I only got 10 psi. I shut down, disconnected the line, put a plastic bag on the end of the line, removed top plug from each cylndar, put 10 psi air pressure on the oil tank and turned the prop until oil came out of the line. Reconnected the line, put the plugs back in and started it up. Go 38 psi on the oil pressure immediately with rock solid oil pressure, no fluctuation.
