1st your oil pump inlet is under suction not pressure as is oil pressure. I had the oil pressure line (with a teflon inner hose rated to several thousand PSI) made up a local hose supplier/assembler (Amazon Hose and Rubber Company in Tampa Fl) You may be able to have this assembled professionally locally in your area. Here is the part that Aircraft Spruce sells, it includes fire sleeve. https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/inpages/rv12remote05-11919.php Also I would replace the sending unit if you have not already done so, the one that was giving you problems probably has already been damaged by vibration/heat. Make sure the sending unit is matched to the gauge call UMA Toll Free: 1-800-842-5578.

In regards to your second question I have a 3 wire sending unit/transducer it is a current 4 - 20 ma device I am not grounding the case or its ground wire, it is powered by the current in the loop (wired in series with the Dynon EMS 220) after looking at your pics it looks like you have a resistive type sensor one terminal goes to ground and the other goes to the instrument. The scaling of the sensor and the guage needs to be the same for the instrument to read properly.

    Thx Garret,

Food point on the suction side, keep forgetting.
I ended up ordering a new sender and Lockwood's oil sender relocation kit.
    Hopefully that'll do the trick

    Hi all,
Parts finally came in today for the remote mount sender unit from Lockwood. 2 quick questions please.

The kit came with the crimp clamps and brb fittings. I installed the first one and it crimped it a little too tight in my opinion. It bulged it just a touch on both sides of the hose.

    1. Wouldn't that make the brb fitting cut the hose?

I had the single prong vdo sender, the kit came with the 2 prong and no instructions. I tried to get continuity from the case of the sender and each of the prongs and nothing.

    2. Which one of the prongs are for signal and which one is for ground?

    Thanks!

On the crimp take picture and post it. On the second question it does not matter, its just a variable resistor.
