It was completely open on the bottom. Seems like least resistance is straight through instead if doing 2 90 degree turns?

    Quick question.
My inlet fitting is npt thread not m15.
Being npt thread shouldn't it stop a couple threads out like the pressure Barb above?

It doesn't leak and I can't find a crack through the threads

I did talk to another person that has around the same year motor and he said his is touching also, but don't know what thread he has.

Anyone else have the npt threads and can see if your Barb bottoms out like mine would be helpful

    Thx!

    Nevermind

NPT actually stands for national pipe taper.
    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_pipe_thread
Mine isn't tapered so it shouldn't stop like the pressure Barb. So it should go all the way in.

I remember a rotax mechanic and a technical support guy from Lockwood both stating they were tapered.
All I guys here said it was m15 if I remember correctly.
U guys here now more than Lockwood!

    2 quick questions
Should I put a copper washer behind it so it doesn't bottom out onto try aluminum?

Should I install the mushroom or only if the pressure relief ball has wear?

    Thanks

Tapered (NPT) threads are just that and never get screwed in all the way or you will split the oil pump housing. 80 in/lbs max.
The other type is not tapered and does go in all the way and yes it gets a crush washer. You can see this in the parts manual under the oil pump section.

    Thx Garret,

The parts manual doesn't show it for the one I have.
    And isn't it 133 in/lbs?
