I just purchased a Remos G-600. On my initial test flight I believe we were getting 55 to 5600 RPMs. The plane and sat for approximately a year. On subsequent flights the RPM continually continues to drop. Now at static I can only get about 4700 RPMs. The plane just had the carbs synchronized before I bought it, and a current annual. We did fly a couple of times with half of a tank old fuel plus new fuel. Since then I have flown approximately three tanks of fuel. At level flight I cannot get over 5000 RPM.  I am change the fuel filter, check the air filter, and put new plugs in.  Short of rebuilding the carburetors does anyone have any ideas?

    In addition to Kevin (above) suggestion, I had another thought - check your throttle movement for correct/full action.

    Depending on your prop setup static (on the ground) 4700-4800 rpm at WOT with a fixed pitch prop is fairly normal. Static runs on the ground are okay to get in the ballpark, but you need to fly it to fine tune the prop pitch to achieve your final rpm specs. Since the plane sat for a long time and probably with fuel in the carbs they may need a serious cleaning / overhaul. The pistons (slides) in the carbs may be dirty or gummed up from sitting and don't move up and down within the carb properly and need a good cleaning.

    Questions;

    What engine is it?

    How old is it?

    Have the carbs ever been overhauled?

    What was the last maintenance done to the engine?

    Have you checked the full throttle position at the carb?

    What type of fuel pump is on the engine and how old?

    Is the air filter a K&N and is it over oiled?

    I have checked throttle movement and I seem to have a complete and full movement on both carbs

    It is a 912 ULS. It has 1300 hrs on it. Annual just done in December the carbs synchronize but not overhauled.
    The carburetors have not been overhauled. I have full throttle movement on both carburetors.  I believe it is OEM fuel pump. Nothing changes when I turn on the electric pump.  It has a K&N  filter on it which has not been overly oiled. I did a static run up and check the prop speed with the engine rpm based on the prop gearing and I appear to have a correct RPM reading.
    It also has the original fixed pitch GT prop.
