In addition to what RW stated, failures of alternator (stator) A are very uncommon. This is because alternator A is right-sized (220 watts) for the engine loads and the regulator and stator don't produce as much heat. Alternator B has been a problem because it has to be sized for a wide range of airframe loads (420 Watts) and often the shunt regulator is working harder to maintain the correct voltage, which also ends up adding some heat into the stator. You will note that that all of the Alternator / Regulator related SB's are in reference to Alternator B.
