To fellow IRMT's out there. How would you make an entry in the log book for this service bulletin for an engine that is in the serial number range, but has the minimum 200 hrs.? My read of the SB, is that no action is required, but should this be logged and how would you recommend wording it?
Thanks in advance,
Harry

Hi Harry,
Log it just like the SB says. Write it up with the SB number and a short sentence on what it covers i.e. the oil spray nozzle. Then just say your serial number falls within the SB specs, but because your engine is over the 200 hr. mark that exempts you as listed in the bulletin that you are not required to perform the SB inspection. Don't have to be these exact words, but something to this effect.

Tool Option #1:
We are still working on sourcing a 3D file for those who wish to create the tool themselves. For those who cannot, here is one purchase option. We will update the forum with additional purchase options as they become available.

Here is where you can buy the complete kit to perform the oil spray nozzle inspection!
(This kit has been tested and functions properly)
The spray nozzle inspection tool is approximately 1" shorter than the one available from Rotax, providing more space for on-airframe inspections. It comes with hoses, a regulator, a flow meter, and other necessary components to inspect any of the “Injected” series Rotax engines, as described in the service bulletin.
All you need to do is connect it to shop air!

This looks like a fairly easy tool to model. Does anyone know what the specs are for the oil spray nozzle diameter, the diameter of the hole in the back of the engine and the depth to the nozzle? You would need to have an O-ring inside the spray nozzle end to seal around it and the bushing for the end to hold it all doesn't look overly hard.
