Hello friends, need your sugestion for installation, please, see attached pictures, the place for EGTs were at a not good positions, mainly the left side, where the hole will be at junction, in the ball joint, and very close of the muffler. Maybe is better to instal it at front cylinders ?

    Ricardo,

Most people install on the mag end pipes but if they won't fit there, the prop end will work fine. If you look at the attachment in roger's post, It shows the installation location on the prop end pipes.

I installed the EGT in the front cylinders exhaust, as in the manual that Roger provided, and its is working fine. At take off I read 1000 Fº (538 Cº), maybe a bit cold, but the spark plugs are ok, without signal of rich mixture.

The left side of my EGT reading fluctuates wildly between 1300 and 1500F. Occasionally the high temp alarm sounds, once when on short final with the throttle closed. I believe the sensor is faulty. When I called the parts house they asked what gauges I had. I didn't know how to answer that. I fly a 2008 CTLS with the original displays. What should I be looking for in a replacement EGT sensor?

    Thanks

You have a Dynon D120 most likely. Just call Dynon and they'll send you a new EGT clamp on probe for a Rotax and it's about $35. The left side is easiest to install and will only take about 5 minutes. Give me a call and I'll be happy to fill you in. This could be the probe or a loose ground. Is any other reading acting up? Do you have header wrap on the pipe and is it over wrapped around the probe?
