    Hi Kevin,

The thinner strand throttle cable I use is 1.2mm (3/64"), 1.5mm (1/16"), 2mm 3/32"). These make the throttle smooth, it never hangs up in the cable sheath or has any friction from bends in the sheathing, makes carb syncs a breeze and they tend to stay longer, the springs function very well and I have never seen one break. All the Flight Design CTSW's and CTLS's (1800+) and 360 in the US use it. Here is another of my personal preferences that some may or may not like, but when I buy throttle cable sheath you can get it with just plain metal on the inside or Teflon coated. I prefer the Teflon coated with the lighter wire. It never rust, clogs up or binds.

Hello. How often they should be replaced?

For many they replace them at carb overhaul time. They last a long time.

    "Mike:
I agree. The throttle springs should be inspected frequently and replaced often. The Bing 64 carb has been used widely on BMW motorcycles and many of the "Rotax" parts are available through BMW motorcycle dealers at 10 to 20% of the Rotax cost. This spring is one such part should you be so inclined.
    Mike"

I recently tried to find the choke (fuel enricher) spring from an alternative (BMW) supplier - several contenders looked the goods! None had the correct length.
