Test flight today, the miss did not change sides so that confirms the plugs are not at fault. Next test was to swap the horizontal ignition module connectors. That test moved the miss to the other ignition switch.
I’m researching what the result of that test is indicating.

Sorry about that, it should be fixed now.

By doing the connector swap at the modules I was able to narrow down the miss to the coils input wires, coils,  or HT wire. Since I didn’t like the way the recently replaced HT wires was wearing I started there. I lucked out yesterday at the local Aircraft Spruce by going into the store and asking to see what that had on the roll for 7mm wire. I wanted solid rubber insulation instead of what was shipped to me and is possibly the cause of the miss. They had the solid rubber so I replaced all the wires today. In doing the replacement I didn’t see anything that indicated what could be causing the miss. Everything back together and a test flight, no miss, problem solved. I am not sure what cured it, I did move everything around replacing the HT wires. My conclusion is the new wire was the fix.

The pic is the first wire from Spruce on the right. You find it on line at Amazon, eBay, etc. you can tell it by the white center. I wouldn’t use it on anything more than a lawn mower. The wire on the left is solid rubber the same as what Rotax uses, also from Spruce. OEM Rotax wire is expensive at $45 - 50 / meter, the Spruce wire is $1.15 / ft.

    Hi Walt,

    Great blog site.

Happy to hear you've solved you problem and wonderful heads up on Spruce wires.

I plan on ordering the 7mm without white insulator. Can you give me an estimate of length required for all 8 leads?

    TKS,

    Robert
